Templates and client programs
Stem keeps two kinds of program. A template lives in your library and is never trained by anyone. A client’s program is the copy a client actually trains. Assigning a template makes that copy, and from then on the two are separate.
Your library
6-Week Hypertrophy
Template, under Training → Programs
No client sees a template
On each client
Emma · 6-Week Hypertrophy
A seventh week added for Emma. The template still has six.
Sam · 6-Week Hypertrophy
Started later, loads changed for Sam only.
Save as template copies a client's program back into your library as a new template. Their program doesn't change.
What this means day to day
Section titled “What this means day to day”- Tailor freely. Change Emma’s sets, loads or weeks and nobody else on the same template is affected, and neither is the template.
- Improving a template doesn’t reach existing clients. It changes what the next assignment copies. To give a current client the change, make it on their program too.
- A program can start on the client. Build one from scratch on a client’s Training tab starts an empty program just for them, with no template behind it.
- Good programs come back to your library. Save as template on a client’s program copies it into your library, all weeks or week 1 only, with the option to drop the prescribed weights.
