Habit nutrition
Not every client should count calories. With Habits nutrition, a client works through a short list of habits you give them each day — protein at every meal, 2 L of water, 8,000 steps — instead of logging food. They tick a habit off, or enter a number, in their app; you see how each day went.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- A client you want on habits. Any client can be switched at any time, and back again.
1. Switch the client to Habits
Section titled “1. Switch the client to Habits”On the client’s Summary, set Nutrition to Habits. Their app’s Nutrition tab becomes Habits the next time it loads their profile. To start every new client this way, choose Habits (a daily checklist instead of a food log) in Settings → Defaults.
2. Get your habits ready
Section titled “2. Get your habits ready”Open Nutrition in the top bar and choose the Habits tab. Stem’s starters are there already, under Stem starters: protein at every meal, drinking water, vegetables twice a day, steps, sleep, and an alcohol-free day. Use them as they are, or choose New habit to make your own:
- They tick it off — done or not, like “Protein at every meal”.
- They enter a number — with a Target, a Unit of your choosing (L, steps, hours) and whether it’s done when the number is At least or At most the target.
Add a Note if the habit needs explaining; your client sees it under the habit. You can edit your own habits later, but not whether they’re ticked or numbered, or their direction — every day already logged is judged by those. Remove from library… takes a habit out of your list; clients who already have it keep it.
3. Give the client their habits
Section titled “3. Give the client their habits”On the client’s Nutrition tab, choose Give habits (or Edit once they have some). Pick from Add a habit… and choose Add, then for each habit:
- set this client’s own target, for a number habit — it starts at the habit’s usual one;
- choose Daily, or a number of days a week for something like gym sessions;
- move it up or down to set the order they see.
Choose Save habits. Remove takes a habit off their list from today; what they logged before stays.
4. See how they’re going
Section titled “4. See how they’re going”The client’s Nutrition tab shows a grid of the last two weeks: a tick or the number they entered, green when the day was done and amber when a number fell short of the target. A blank day is one the habit wasn’t on their list yet.
On the Clients page, a habits client’s Nutrition · 7 days strip shows how much of each day’s habits they did, with their average beside it. A habit for some days a week only counts on the days they did it, so a rest day never looks like a miss. If they did less than 70% of what their habits asked over the last week, their row in the client list says so.
What your client sees
Section titled “What your client sees”Their Habits tab lists today’s habits. They tap a habit to tick it off, or to enter a number, shown against the target (1.5 / 2 L). A strip of the last seven days sits on top, so they can fill in a day they missed — up to six days back, never a day ahead. A habit for some days a week shows how many they’ve done this week.
